I am currently FULL.
I specialize in the treatment of adults & couples. I am primarily interested in treating couples through my private practice. Please note that I am only offering telehealth services at this time. Additionally, I can provide consultation and supervision services upon request. .
Premarital Counseling & Couples Therapy
I am a certified Prepare & Enrich Facilitator for couples seeking premarital counseling and have specialty training in Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method for couples. I have extensive education and experience working with couples who are struggling with emotional disconnection, high conflict interactions, rebuilding trust after infidelity, communication issues, parenting differences, attachment ruptures, and sexual disorders and sexual preferences/discrepancy desires. Since starting my private practice, I have worked with a large volume of interracial, intercultural, and historically excluded couples. To learn more about how I work with couples, please reference my couples therapy information and FAQs page.
Group Therapy:
I have extensive speciality training in group psychotherapy. Currently, through my private practice, I am seeking referrals for the following groups, which I hope to start in late 2023 and that will remain virtual:
South Asian Women’s Support and Process Group: This will be a 75 minute support and process oriented group for women of South Asian descent in their 20’s and early 30’s. Themes in the group will include processing family dynamics and pressures, interpersonal and romantic struggles, navigating “isms” such colorism, racism, sexism and intersections of various identities, academic and career challenges, and healing from both intergenerational, interpersonal, and acute trauma. This group will be a long term group with no set end date. Members will be encouraged to remain the group for as long as they see fit. Limited to 8 members within the US.
South Asian Women’s Bibliotherapy Process Group: This will be a 75 minute semi-structured 12 week group. Prior to the group start date, participants will receive twelve short stories, articles, or poems written by South Asian Diaspora authors (one each week). Each week, members are expected to come to group having read the assigned piece. The group experience will create a space for collective reflection, analysis, and healing. Members will be expected to share personal reactions, thoughts, and feelings to the readings that go beyond the boundaries of a book club and allow for a facilitated therapeutic experience. Limited to 6 members within the US.
Individual Therapy:
I have provided individual therapy primarily to adults ages 18 and older. In particular, I enjoy working with BIPOC adults around issues of family dynamics/relationships, first and second generation immigration issues, and sociocultural identity issues. I believe taking a broader social and contextual look at a client’s life to be highly informative in understanding and properly addressing the presenting concerns.
